Spring sports and clubs have begun at Indian Creek Upper School and the library is getting involved! This spring, seven students joined the Library Book Club to read and discuss books on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Freshman Hadar Pohl, sophomore Jillian Rhode, juniors Caroline Grindrod, Rose Lieberman, Ryan McCarthy, and Ryn Seidewitz spent the first meeting of the Book Club researching a list of fifteen titles and voting on the ones they wanted to read most. It was a close race, but John Green’sThe Fault in Our Stars was the winner, with Battle Royale by Koushun Takami coming in second. Book Club members also created a list of rules to help facilitate pleasant and productive book discussions. So far, Book Club meetings consist of 75% book discussion, 15% tangential conversation, and 10% snacking.
Be on the lookout for more news and projects from the Book Club! For now, if you’d like to find out more about YA Literature phenom John Green, check out his Youtube channels VlogBrothers and Crash Course.
